Sarah has created features, in partnership with media outlets, such as her regular podcast on High Country Radio Stations, entitled Moment 4 Moms.  M4M airs six times per week on WMMY 106.1, and WECR 102.3 in the mountains of NC, as well as a downloadable podcast online.

In 2009, Sarah also created and hosted a weekly 30-minute TV show, based on the High Country Mom Squad, for local access station MTN-TV.

Watauga Democrat: Mom’s Night Out Comes to Boone

Boone-area mothers are getting royal treatment as an advance on Mother’s Day.

A local event is planned for May 7 as part of a national celebration of motherhood, part of numerous Web sites, broadcasts, and activities in both the virtual and the real worlds to share the joys of motherhood.

Sarah Pinnix of Fleetwood is co-hosting the event at the Broyhill Inn & Convention Center. She is the founder of High Country Mom Squad, which is also connected to the “Mom’s Nite Out” celebration. Read More…

Watauga Democrat: Mom’s Groups Keep Growing

“I founded the mom squad community because the area lacked a central place to find information,” said creator and owner, Sarah Pinnix. “I wanted to create a central location for coupons, specials, contest and highlight the ‘best of’ the High Country for families and children.”

The Mom Squad has 12 regular writers, with some contributing weekly, others monthly.

Social Networking: Yesterday’s trendy Web skills more the norm and necessary, Winston-Salem Journal

Sarah Pinnix, a consultant from Boone who runs a blog for moms and teaches classes on social media, was one of the speakers. She discussed the importance of companies using social media to interact with their customers.

As an example, she pointed to Baldguybrew.com, a coffee shop in Boone that has a thriving online presence. She also discussed an incident where she posted a favorable comment about a restaurant while dining there, only to have one of her readers come to the restaurant based on her recommendation before she had even left.

The Center for Entrepreneurship at ASU will host the annual Young Entrepreneurs Symposium (Y.E.S.) on Wednesday, February 24, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center in Boone.

Coupon Mom Saves Hundreds, The Mountain Times

March 11, 2010~ Local blogger and resident super-mom Sarah Pinnix went to the grocery store Tuesday.

No, that’s not the bill, that’s the amount she saved playing her favorite game: couponing.
“I love coming to the grocery store, because it’s a challenge for me to see how little I can spend each week and how much I can get,” she said.
Pinnix spends about 45 minutes a week clipping and organizing coupons, but it’s worth it when she spends about $350 a month on groceries for a family of five. Organization is the key.READ MORE…
